Our Favourite Spots In Mermaid Beach Gold Coast

bonita bonita
Part of the spectacular view when you look north from your hilltop Gold Coast accommodation at Magic Mountain is the seaside suburb of Mermaid Beach. Located just a 5-minute drive from your holiday apartments, Mermaid Beach is a fantastic place to eat, shop and relax. If you’re looking for great places to eat in Mermaid Beach, here are some of our favourites..

Etsu Izakaya: Mermaid Beach Gold Coast

If you’re fond of Japanese cuisine, then make a beeline for Etsu Izakaya. Their modern food is served tapas-style, perfect for sharing with friends. Whether you fancy the freshest of sashimi from their raw bar, tempura, sushi, or meat from their robata grill, you’re in for a treat. For the extra hungry they also offer a selection of larger dishes and premium steaks. Can’t decide? Order an omakase menu and let the chef pick for you.

Little Truffle Dining Room

Treat yourself to the elegance of an old-world dining room when you eat at Little Truffle. Their award-winning menu is modern Australian, with Italian, French and Spanish influences, and features such delights as confit duck leg, braised pork belly and pan-fried ocean trout. If you’re feeling budget-conscious, visit on Monday – Thursday and take advantage of their special $59 three-course menu. If you want to splash out a little more, they serve a $90 five-course degustation menu every night of the week.

Bonita Bonita

The interior of Bonita Bonita is as eclectic and funky as its modern Mexican street food menu. This is authentic Mexican fare, beautifully fresh and not too expensive, with the majority of the menu under $20. Choose from a tempting range of tacos, quesadillas and tostadas, or split a Bonita Banquete with a friend. Pair your meal with one of their famous margaritas, then slip next door to Bon Bon Bar to sample one of the 100 tequilas they have on offer.
Bonita Bonita is pumping even on a week night! Food is amazing!!

The Glenelg Public House

No favourites list would be complete without a good steakhouse, and that’s what you’ll find at The Glenelg Public House. They offer a huge range of steak, including sirloin, eye fillet and rump, and for the truly dedicated, a T-bone 1kg Black Angus. If steak’s not your thing, don’t worry, because they also have entrees and mains ranging from oysters and prawns to chicken and pasta. Many of their dishes are also gluten free. If you’re dining on a budget, book an early table between Wednesday and Monday for their Sunset Menu – two courses for $35 or three courses for $40.

Mandala Organic Arts Café

Mandala is more than just a 100% vegan eatery; it’s also an art gallery, live music venue, a gathering space and much, much more. Most of the items on their menu are under $20 and include delights such as rice paper rolls, gluten-free nachos, amazing wholemeal-spelt-base pizzas and a salted caramel smoothie to die for. They’re licensed, too, so you can enjoy a nice cold Pimms and lemonade on a hot day. There are so many great places to eat in Mermaid Beach; you’ll be wanting to dine there every night of your Magic Mountain Resort holiday.
