Nobby Beach is blessed with more than its fair share of boutique cafes, bars and restaurants, and we’ve got a list of places you won’t want to miss during your Gold Coast holiday.
BSKT CaféStart the day off right with breakfast at BSKT. Their focus on healthy food doesn’t come at the expense of flavour. Try their Navajo Native Breakfast or poached free-range eggs topped with smoked salmon. If you’re extra hungry, their hearty Bushman’s Breakfast will fill you with energy for an adventure-packed day. Health food never tasted so good
HellenikaA bit of a Nobby Beach institution, Hellenika serves authentic Greek food cooked with passion on their wood-fired grill. Go for their famous slow-baked lamb shoulder, mouth-watering eggplant moussaka, or tasty dolmades. Stay for the sweet delights of Baklava or halva ice cream. Their plates are designed to be shared, so take the opportunity to try more than one.
HachiIf you’re looking for a place to enjoy both delicious Japanese food and the lovely bottle of wine you picked up earlier, you’re in luck at BYO-friendly Hachi. With generous portions and reasonable prices, you won’t leave hungry. Order a range of izakaya dishes (the Japanese version of tapas), or try a main of teriyaki chicken or wasabi steak. If you don’t have any BYO, don’t despair. They’re also licenced and specialise in Japanese beverages, with Sapporo on tap.
Sparrow Eating HouseWith a menu that changes every season, you’re always in for a treat at Sparrow Eating House. They specialise in shared food made with fresh local ingredients and paired with the very best boutique wines. They also have an extensive cocktail list (have you ever tried a peanut butter martini?). Plenty of their dishes are gluten free, and all of them are delicious. Try their sticky ginger quail or slow-roasted pork rump.
Gemellini is amazing. I felt like I was in Italy, deep in the Tuscan wineries
