A Shopaholic’s Guide To the Gold Coast – Gold Coast Shopping

gold coast shopping
The Gold Coast is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches, rolling surf, and warm, sunny weather. But it’s also one of Australia’s best shopping venues. Our affordable family accommodation at Magic Mountain Resort Apartments is perfectly situated for the hard-core shopper to make the most of the fantastic retail outlets on the Gold Coast. If retail therapy is your thing, you’ll want to visit these iconic shopping venues.

Gold Coast Shopping at Pacific Fair

Recently refurbished, Pacific Fair now houses more than 400 stores spread over almost 150,000 square meters. Shops range from discount and variety stores like Kmart and Target right through to high-end labels like Prada and Louis Vuitton. It’s also the home of the Gold Coast’s only H&M and Uniqlo. There’s a free shuttle bus that runs daily, and pickup is right across the road from Magic Mountain. Before you start shopping, drop into the Pacific Fair Visitors’ Lounge to grab a Visitor Privileges Pass, connect to the free Wi-Fi, and plan your day’s activities. As well as shops to suit any budget, there are also plenty of places to eat and drink and an amazing food market. Round off your day by taking in a movie at the on-site Event Cinema complex.

Robina Town Centre

It’s an easy 15-minute drive from Magic Mountain to the Gold Coast’s second-largest shopping complex, Robina Town Centre which makes for epic Gold Coast Shopping. There are 400 stores to explore, including David Jones, Myer, supermarkets, and the Gold Coast’s only Apple store. If you’re feeling peckish, the food atrium has over 900 seats and a huge range of cuisines to choose from, or dine alfresco on the Promenade. Foodies will want to visit The Kitchens – Queensland’s biggest food court – which houses restaurants and bars as well as open kitchens that hold food tastings and cooking masterclasses. There’s also plenty of entertainment on site, with one VMAX, three Gold Class and seven standard cinemas, a laser tag arena and a ten-pin bowling alley.

Harbour Town

Everyone loves a bargain, and the best place to find one on the Gold Coast is at Harbour Town Outlet Shopping Centre. The largest outlet shopping mall in Australia, it features over 240 brand direct, outlet, and clearance stores, speciality retailers and eateries for Gold Coast Shopping. Spend your day tracking down amazing discounts, which can be as much as 70% off standard retail pricing. Make sure you pop into the Harbour Town Tourism Lounge first to collect your Tourist Discount Card for even better deals. When you’re all shopped out, you can rest your tired feet and escape the heat of the day at Harbour Town’s Reading Cinemas, which has a whopping 14 screens, including Gold Class and Titan XC cinemas.

Carrara Markets

If malls aren’t your scene, then head to Carrara Markets in Broadbeach for a market experience like no other. A Gold Coast institution for over 30 years, Carrara is Australia’s largest permanent marketplace, and you’ll find a dazzling array of clothing, jewellery, accessories, toys, fresh produce, plants, art, beauty products and souvenirs at the 400-plus stalls. A visit to the markets is a real family day out. The kids will be entertained for hours by the pony rides, bouncy castles, and a visit to Luke’s Reptile Kingdom. There are even two mini golf courses at which you can put your putting skills to the test. When you’re planning your next Gold Coast shopping spree, come and stay with us at Magic Mountain Resort Apartments to be close to all the retail action.
